ASSESSING THE LANDSCAPE OF DIET-RELATED MHEALTH APPS: QUALITY, FEATURES AND USER PERSPECTIVES
DESCRIPTION : This quantitative content analysis study evaluated the content, features, and quality of commercial diet apps in Asian marketplaces. Inclusion criteria encompassed both free and paid English-language apps for general dietary information. Apps that were disease-specific or redundant were excluded. App descriptions were extracted and evaluated by two independent research dietitians using a 100-point rubric based on predefined variables (e.g., language options, credibility, food databases, valuable features, health-behavior theory and technical quality). Good inter-rater reliability was achieved (kappa = 0.726; intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.763).

PERCEPTION OF MALAYSIAN HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL TOWARDS FAMILY MEDICINE SPECIALISTS
DESCRIPTION : Perception of healthcare providers who worked with family medicine specialists (FMSs) could translate into the effectiveness of primary healthcare delivery in daily practices. This study examined perceptions of public healthcare providers/professionals (PHCPs) on FMSs at public health clinics throughout Malaysia. This was a cross-sectional study in 2012-2013 using postal method targeting PHCPs from three categories of health facilities, namely health clinics, health offices and hospitals. A structured questionnaire was developed to assess PHCP's perception of FMS's clinical competency, safety practice, ethical and professional values, and research involvement. It consists of 37 items with Likert scale of strongly disagree (a score of 1) to strongly agree (a score of 5). Interaction and independent effect of the independent variables were tested and adjusted means score were reported. The participants' response rate was 58.0% (780/1345) with almost equal proportion from each of the three public healthcare facilities. There were more positive perceptions than negative among the PHCPs. FMSs were perceived to provide effective and safe treatment to their patients equally disregards of patient's social background. However, there were some concerns of FMSs not doing home visits, not seeing walk-in patients, had long appointment time, not active in scientific research, writing and publication. There were significant differences in perception based on a respondent's health care facility (p < 0.0001) and frequency of encounter (p < 0.0001). PHCPs had overall positive perceptions on FMSs across all the domains investigated. PHCPs from different health care facilities and frequency of encounter with FMSs had different perception. Practicing FMSs could improve on the critical service areas that were perceived to be important but lacking. FMSs might need further support in conducting research and writing for publication.

THE MALAYSIAN GESTATIONAL DIABETES AND PREVENTION OF DIABTES STUDY (MY GODDESS)
DESCRIPTION : Over 50% of women with a history of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) will develop type 2 diabetes (T2D) in later life. Asian women experience a disproportionate risk of both GDM and T2D compared to women from other ethnic backgrounds. Lifestyle interventions and behavior change can delay or even prevent the onset of T2D. We have developed a digitalized diabetes prevention intervention for the prevention of T2D in Malaysian women with GDM.

THE VOLUME OF WASTE GENERATED AND ITS IMPACT ON GHG EMISSIONS, LAND USE, AND HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT: A STUDY IN MALAYSIA
DESCRIPTION : Waste dumped in landfills was classified as mixed domestic waste or landfilled waste where the available data from 2014 to 2018 only at the time of data collection. Meanwhile, segregated wastes (plastic, paper, metal, aluminium, glass, and e-waste) were collected separately for recycling. As the mandatory waste segregation at source programme started in September 2015, the available data on segregated waste were selected from 2015 to 2018.

EVOLUTIONARY APPROACH TO ADDRESS THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF SELFISH MAC BEHAVIOR ON RESOURCE AVAILABILITY IN M2M NETWORKS
DESCRIPTION : The emergence of sophisticated applications has created a demand of diverse Quality of Service (QoS) requirement. Depending on the type of services provided by the application, the main concern of the wireless communication can shift from reliable transmission to high throughput delivery, stringent delay or vice versa. To cater for such QoS requirement, communication protocol such as IEEE 802.11ah and user programmable network interface card are introduced. Responsible for 70 percent (70%) of the performance of a network, modifications are introduced in Media Access Control (MAC) Layer of the protocol to improve the performance. These changes allow MAC parameters to be adjusted as needed for their respective QoS requirement. However, the dynamic tuning ability has changed the facet of resource contention for the conventional MAC protocol. The ability of tuning the MAC parameters at will has violated the fair share policy of conventional MAC parameters, and can be abused to gain individual benefit over the loss of other connected terminals in the associated network. This creates a security threat of resource availability in the network when connected terminals are denied their access to the radio resources, which is a case of Denial-of-Service (DoS). When a terminal tunes its parameter to gain personal benefit, this behavior is regarded as selfish behavior while terminal which tuned the parameter according to the standard are consider as behaving honestly. As the severity of selfish behavior intensify, the degree of effect of DoS for honest terminal will increase. In this work, we will analyze the interaction between terminals of different behavior using Evolutionary Game Theory. Using the framework from evolutionary game, the dynamic decision making and the change of behavior will be studied. A mechanism to discourage selfish behavior will be introduced towards the end of result analysis as a measure to enforce security for MAC layer in the network.

CHARACTERIZING SMARTPHONE ADDICTION AMONG UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA STUDENTS USING RESTING STATE FUNCTIONAL MAGNETIC RESONANCE SPECTROSCOPY AS A BIOMARKER
DESCRIPTION : Functional MRI data for brain MRI of young adults. Background: Problematic Instagram use (PIGU), a specific type of internet addiction, is prevalent among adolescents and young adults. In certain instances, Instagram acts as a platform for exhibiting photos of risk-taking behavior that the subjects with PIGU upload to gain likes as a surrogate for gaining peer acceptance and popularity. Aims: The primary objective was to evaluate whether addiction-specific cues compared with neutral cues, i.e., negative emotional valence cues vs. positive emotional valence cues, would elicit activation of the dopaminergic reward network (i.e., precuneus, nucleus accumbens, and amygdala) and consecutive deactivation of the executive control network [i.e., medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC)], in the PIGU subjects.
